YouTube announed to demonetize low-quality kids’ content

In a recent statement Google said, “Our ultimate goal is to foster a safe and enriching environment for families while rewarding trusted creators who are making high-quality kids and family content.”

Google has come up with a new policy change to push YouTube creators to produce and publish higher-quality content for kids. Starting next month, YouTube will start demonetizing channels that target young people or market themselves as “made for kids” if the content they upload is of low quality.

YouTube says creators whose channels could be impacted by the monetization changes will receive an email before the changes go into effect. In addition, even those channels that aren’t immediately impacted but produce low-quality kids’ content may receive a yellow icon in a warning to advertisers. The company didn’t specify how many channels may be impacted as a result of its new policy.
