Rahul Gandhi on Thursday accused Narendra Modi for taking advantage of the sacrifices of their soldiers for political purposes; days after the Indian Special Forces undertook surgical strikes that targeted terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
He said, “Modi, you are hiding behind the blood of our innocent people in Jammu and Kashmir. You are exploiting their sacrifices, which is very wrong.”
He went on with his speech and stated, “The Indian Army has done its duty. Now you do your duty. Help the farmers; hike the salary of soldiers under the seventh pay commission…That is your duty. That is your responsibility. India has elected you for that. That is the truth.”
He accused Modi of not giving justice to the people and dividing the country on religious lines.
He said the Prime Minister had promised Rs 15 lakh to every Indian, assured farmers to be given the right price for their work, guaranteed unemployed youth creation of 2 crore jobs every year, promised clean India. “You did not implement all that. Yes, you certainly did two things. You made one Indian fight with another. You divided India.”
“You are making Hindus and Muslim fight with each other..This is what you have given the country. The country is suffering because of this and it is not progressing. The country only wants justice from you.”
