The Oppo Find X is all about excess. It comes with a futuristic design with a motorized camera mechanism, a pure bezel-less display and some of the most powerful hardware you can find inside a 2018 smartphone including a Snapdragon 845 chipset. The Find X was launched back in July, but it seems Oppo is not done jacking up this model just yet. As per a TENAA listing, the Find X could be getting a new variant with a whopping 10GB of RAM.
This would make the Find X the world’s first 10GB RAM smartphone. The listing mentions a new variant with bumped up memory and 256GB of internal storage, but it looks like everything else will remain the same. Additionally, the renders put up reveal a new Black and Grey color on the back of the Find X. This color could be specific to the 10GB version while the original 8GB variant is offered in Red and Blue gradient colors.
We aren’t sure when this 10GB RAM monster will be available for purchase or how much it’ll cost, but if it’s already passing through the TENNA, those are details we should be getting soon.
Releasing the first phone with 10GB of RAM is likely a monument Oppo is thrilled to achieve, and while it’s certainly exciting to think that we can cram so much power into a smartphone, we’ve still yet to see the true potential of phones with 6 or 8GB. This is more of a bragging right than offering anything substantial to the user, but in any case, it looks like 2018 will be the year of the 10GB RAM phone.
