The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the plans of hosting the future edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) on a different venue, PCB chairman Najam Sethi stated.
Najam Sethi said that PCB is currently evaluating venues in Malaysia and will work with their government as it did with UAE. He is also planning to visit Malaysia to inspect the cricket grounds in the first week of March.
The PCB Chairman said: “I am going to Malaysia to see their grounds. If the needed arrangements are agreed upon, having Malaysia [as our home venue] would cut our costs in half.
This decision has come at the back of UAE holding other various cricketing tournaments. Najam believes that PCB can not afford a clash of schedule between Pakistan cricket team and other tournaments happening in UAE.”
He said that there needs to be a back up option, which is why Malaysia has been identified as a possible venue.
