Pakistan could soon mark the debut of electric cars on its roads. This good news has come after Super Power Motorcycles displayed two different versions of the electric cars that it intends to hit the roads within the next three months. These cars are currently up for public display at the ’14th My Karachi-Oasis of Harmony’, a three-day exhibition that was inaugurated on Friday at the Karachi Expo Centre.
These electric vehicles in question will travel up to 50kmh with a distance of up to 120kms on the charge of seven hours. The vehicles are cost-efficient with fuel mileage of Rs1 per kilometre. While talking to a local publication house, N.J Auto Industries Marketing Executive Abdul Muqsit said:
“Its target market is not specific. People from all age groups can drive this car.We believe the market for E-cars market will grow much faster in the coming years so we have decided to enter this market.”
Muqsit also revealed that the battery of these cars is 12 volts , and will be charged like inverter, UPS, in homes.
One of two cars is a two-door variant, which will come along with a price tag of Rs600,000, while the four-door version will set back the buyers with Rs650,000.
These electric cars are being imported from China and are expected to hit the roads in Pakistan within a span of two to three months. If these cars debut Pakistani automotive scene, then definitely it is going to change the face and function of travelling.
