World XI wins the toss, elects to bowl first against Pakistan

World XI won the toss and elected to bowl first against Pakistan in the third T20 being held at Gaddafi Stadium on Friday.

Speaking at the toss, Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed said that fast bowler Hasan Ali will make play the match in place of Sohail Khan.

“Hopefully we won’t be repeating the mistakes we made in the last game,” said the skipper.

Today’s finale has all the makings of a memorable clash, as the galaxy of top-notch cricketers from seven different countries and Champions Trophy winners Pakistan lock horns in the race to the glittering trophy.

People from all over the city have reached the stadium.

Former Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq and all-rounder Shahid Afridi will perform a ‘lap of honour’ at the Gaddafi Stadium ahead of tonight’s final T20 match between Pakistan and World XI.

Hosts Pakistan will be defying a tough challenge from some of the best players from around the world, whereas the World XI will be eager to beat the home side to salvage its pride and clinch the title.

Both the rival captains have expressed their resolve to win the third and last T20 match of the series, which stands locked at 1-1 after Pakistan beat the World XI by 20 runs in the opener, and the tourists avenged the defeat by overcoming the hosts by seven wickets in front of a full house at the Gaddafi Stadium.
