With International Women’s Day, every brand, product and company is pro-active in bringing out the best when it comes to their idea of empowering women. However, without any doubt, FM 91 with its #WomenWill campaign has definitely taken the lead with its series of women empowering and life changing realities, which despite of the constant assertions, this society fails to maintain.
Because it is a woman who is to be held responsible for everything that goes wrong, because it is a woman who has to think even before stepping outside – Log Kya Kahengy? You want to work? Log Kya Kahengy? You wear red lipstick? Log Kya Kahengy? You want to dye your hair? Log Kya Kahengy? You want to pursue your Masters abroad? Log Kya Kahengy? You will return home late? Log Kya Kahengy? Because the only thing that remains in end is to order a woman to stop breathing because Log Kya Kahengy?
In another of its video in Women of Will campaign, FM 91 once again insists the mainstream idea that women are just restricted to the kind of proposal they get. Too skinny to bear a child! Too dark to be married! Too fat for a man’s standard! Too deformed nose! Too short! Oh, she is not a DR. Too under-qualified! Too short hair! Too rough skin! Too dull complexion!
I AM A WOMAN, I AM MORE THAN JUST A PROPOSAL. I AM A WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE, WITH A POWER TO MOVE THE MOUNTAINS.
We couldn’t agree more with the idea that FM 91 has sparked this women’s day, because women are way more than what men thinks of them or what they do. We demand that equal right to be given, that has become a commodity for us.
So, this women’s day, let’s pledge alongside FM 91 that we are women of will, we will refrain from passing judgments on each other and will stand by each other’s side every other time this need arises.
