TTP responsible for Lahore blast, launches 'Ghazi' operation for attacks nationwide

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Jamaat-ul-Ahrar has claimed responsibility for the Lahore attack that shook the entire country out of the blue on 13th February 2017. TTP Jamaat-ul-Ahrar has stood to the execution of attack, stating that it has been launched under its “Operation Ghazi”, in the honour of Moulvi Ghazi Abdul Rasheed who was killed in July 2007 inside Laal Masjid, Islamabad by Pakistan Army.

Apart from just claiming the responsibility, the faction also insisted other religious group to stand unified against their action against “nonreligious groups” throughout the country. The group also threatened the security and law-enforcing organizations throughout the country of possible terror attacks and blasts, under the umbrella of “Ghazi Operation”.

Taliban also released a video in which they specified the highlighted features of the operation that will be carried out throughout the country. The video has since been removed from YouTube. The main features through Taliban’s mouthpiece, according to the new Code of Conduct of Operation Ghazi are;

Some large scale attacks in Mohmand Agency, Bajaur Agency & Peshawar on the LEAs while Shias will be targeted too.

 Crowded places/Public gathering will not be targeted including; Mosques, Madrasahs, Religious centers, Religious gatherings, Eid Gah, Funeral Prayers, Markets of Vegetable & Animal, common places of gathering like markets, Funfairs, Festivals, Public gathering, Railway Stations, Hospital, Roads, Bridges, Demonstrations and Bus Stops even if enemy is present there. 

Targets that will be hit in Operation Ghazi include; All legislative bodies which means Parliament and all provincial assemblies and possibly local bodies. Pakistan Army, Intelligence agencies and its supporting institutions which may be Police, Levy, FC, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) etc. Judiciary & its supporting institutions i.e. Lawyers’ Bodies and Lawyers’ Organizations. Interest based economic institutions i.e Banks & Financial institutions. Secular political parties, Anti-Islamic ideology constructive and welfare organizations which are involved in spreading vulgarity & nudity. Ahmadi & Qadianis along with some liberal writers & liberal political leaders/workers, Media persons who propagate for the benefits of TTP’s enemies, Educational Institutions providing strength & support to the Governments excluding common educational institutions along with Colleges and universities which are running co-educational institutions.

Government and security agencies have been high alerted after the video and the launch of “Operation Ghazi” has been made viral nationwide.
