Shahra-e-Faisal, Drigh Road underpass to open for public this month

Shahra-e-Faisal underpass at Drigh Road is about to get completed. The construction started months ago and is soon to open for public by this month.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Saturday that the ongoing development schemes launched under the Rs10-billion Karachi package “must be completed” by the end of this month, or “I would become PD [project director] myself to complete them,” he said.

“Speed up your work, or should I run these projects right from my own office,” said the chief minister while presiding over a meeting held to review progress on the ongoing Karachi package schemes and giving a nod to launch a new package for the current fiscal at the CM House.

In his opening remarks, Mr Shah said the recent heavy rains had slowed down the pace of the ongoing development works in the city. “I want to resume the halted works with greater zeal to make sure they are completed by the end of this month,” he said, warning that he would become the project director himself to re-commence work on the road from the FTC building to the Metropole Hotel if the contractor failed to do so within the next 15 days.
People faced a lot of problem while traveling through Shahra-e-Faisal as the construction was going on and caused severe traffic at that area but soon the problem will be solved. Hopefully by the end of this month we can travel in peace and reach home without being stuck in traffic. People heading towards airport and Malir used to face traffic issues.
