According to the industry resources, Samsung Electronics is expected to soon launch its own dual screen smartphone prototype, which is expected to be a preliminary version of its up and coming foldable Galaxy X.
The prototype can be folded up to 180 degrees, with a pair of organic light-emitting diode display, connected to a hinge in the middle.
The Korean smartphone giant has already placed orders for components to produce about 2,000-3,000 units of the dual-screen phone in the first half of this year, media reports have hinted.
Galaxy X is going to be Samsung’s first foldable smartphone with a single flexible OLED screen that can be folded outward. The company has been developing the smartphone under its Project Valley since a very long time.
“Samsung seems to be testing the waters with the dual-screen device to gather ideas about its upcoming foldable phone,” a source has revealed.
Samsung and its display-making branch Samsung Display have been working hard on the research and development work lately, so that they may release a limited batch of Galaxy X in the second half of this year.
