Pakistan has been the worst victim of road accidents and street crimes in Asia, owing to the increase in reckless driving and deteriorating law and order situation in the country. Pakistan has set the record of the highest number of road accidents in Asia.
As revealed through media sources, at least 51,400 people were killed in about 97,500 road accidents in the period of 2004 to 2013. This makes Pakistan stand first in terms of fatal road accidents in Asia while it gained the rank of 48th, globally.
According to the experts, the reason behind the high rate of accidents is due to incomplete road construction, dangerous exchanges, and faulty U-turns. Moreover, they have also stated that about 35 per cent of the road accidents are caused due to the inappropriate and fault-ridden designing and construction of the roads.
As for the motorbike accidents, they are majorly caused due to negation of the rules of driving at hazardous roads, bridges, and improper safety measures.
