Pakistan Super League’s team Karachi Kings hosted a launch concert on Friday (yesterday) at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The concert served as a launch for the team and also revealed the official anthem. The night was full of celebrities and renowned musicians like Ali Azmat, Rahim Shah, Faakhir, Komal Rizvi, Shazia Khushk, Ali Haider, Asim Azhar, Saleem Javed and Azal.
The event began at 7:30 pm and was hosted by Iqrar ul Hassan, Waseem Badami and Fahad Mustafa. Celebrities like Faysal Qureshi, Fahad Mustafa, Adnan Siddiqui, Humayun Saeed, Anoushay Ashraf, Annie Khalid and Ahsan Khan were also present.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nehal Hashmi, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar, business leaders and celebrities from showbiz attended the event to support the team.
The whole stadium stood up for the national anthem, which was followed by a performance from singer Shehzad Roy who sang the official anthem of Karachi Kings team.
Salman Iqbal was then invited to the stage where he thanked the entire team and everyone who was present there, he said: “Karachi is shining like it did last year, if there is one city which has completely owned its team, it is Karachi.”
Karachi Kings is the biggest and most popular team in the PSL which is proudly owned by Mr. Salman Iqbal. The fan following of the team is not limited to Karachi, but is spread all across the country. More than being just a cricket team, the Karachi Kings franchise aims to invest in cricket in Pakistan, developing and nurturing our local talent to be confident and able to perform on an international level.
The second edition of Pakistan Super League will start from February 9 in the UAE. The final of the tournament will be played in Lahore on March 5.
