Kellogg’s launches VR experience inside human

An immersive VR experience aimed at raising Australian consumer awareness of the importance of fibre for gut heath has debuted from the Kellogg’s team. Kellogg’s has launched an interactive campaign in Australia to highlight the importance of gut health.

The campaign, called ‘Gut Bacteria Reef’ and created by TBWA\Eleven Sydney and Nakatomi, uses virtual reality (VR) to teach players that their gut is much like a coral reef, home to trillions of organisms that need specific nutrients to thrive.

Set inside the human gut, Kellogg’s ‘Gut Bacteria Reef’ teaches players that their gut is similar to a coral reef, home to trillions of organisms that need specific nutrients to thrive. Players follow the journey of Kellogg’s cereal through the human gut as the cereal’s fibre nourishes the good bacteria and allows them to grow and prevail over the bad bacteria.

The new VR campaign, dubbed ‘Gut Bacteria Reef’, is being pitched as a first interactive experience exploring the human gut. The narrative centres around the analogy of the human gut as much like the coral reef and as a home to billions of organisms that require certain nutrients to survive. Kellogg’s cereals are ingested and shown as the ammunition for nourishing good bacteria and helping wipe out the bad bacteria in the gut.
