Jazz receives 4G spectrum award by PTA

Jazz mobile network has been awarded 4G spectrum by Pakistan telecommunications Authority (PTA), after leveling the official license fees.

Jazz had paid 100% of license fee to USD 295 Million they also paid 10% tax in order to begin expanding the 4G coverage. Jazz has the biggest subscriber base in Pakistan and now would be the fastest in terms of speed.

“This development is truly very exciting for us at Jazz because it allows us to provide Pakistan with a far reaching and enhanced mobile broadband experience,” Aamir Ibrahim, CEO – Jazz said. “Acquisition of the additional spectrum demonstrates Jazz’s investment in the country’s digital future – in line with our vision of becoming a true digital entity.”

“The Broadband penetration which was less then 3% in 2013, has grown to more than 29% under the leadership of PM, Nawaz Sharif” – Anusha Rahman, Minister for IT said on the occasion.
