There are times when you think that your boss or the authorities might be mishandling you or they are not working through a proper channel. There may be questions stemming out of your mind that your company or employer have some deeds that are not legal.

This is why we are bringing you some generally held or bizarre rules and actions by your employers that may seem illegal, but are totally allowed through lawful means;

THEY CAN CHECK YOUR INTERNET HISTORY

After reading this, you might rush to log out of your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts – but, it is a widely held knowledge that your employers are allowed to track your internet history, communication channels, and web searches. However, it is only allowed on the gadgets that they have provided you to be strictly used in the office premises.

But, it must be kept in mind that those files which are password protected or are your personal belongings are not authorized to be accessed. A little sigh of relief?

THEY CAN KEEP AN EYE WITH A SURVEILLANCE VIDEO CAMERA IN YOUR OFFICE

It has been clarified through various security channels that putting up video cameras for surveillance and security concerns is justifiable. But, it is obvious that such cameras are not allowed in rest rooms or changing rooms.

Putting up cameras in specific areas or for specific employees is also not permissible.

THEY CAN CALL YOU ON YOUR SICK LEAVES

Whether you are actually sick or have taken a ‘sick’ leave for some other purposes, it is totally okay if your boss calls you for some specific purposes. As long as the employee can answer the call himself and can do the work assigned to, comfortably, by sitting at home – it is perfectly okay to receive a call from employer.

THEY WILL ASK FOR A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE OF YOUR SICK LEAVES

If you fake sickness way too much or are of the fact that asking for a medical certificate might not be right, under laws, it is allowed to an employer to ask for a doctor’s note requiring a sick day. But, there are certain laws and rights to the employee which demands that certain information be kept hidden due to employee’s choice.

THEY CAN FIRE YOU OVER UNNECESSARY POLITICS ANYTIME

In the wake of elections or on any general topics, employees love to gossip on politics or even instigate fight on them. However, you must remain cautious that do not get all political with your boss or anyone else in the office as it can lead to rightful firing from the office.
