Instagram has once again succeeded in copying Snapchat’s reality face filters that had become talk of the town since the day they were launched. With the last nail to the coffin, it seems that Snapchat might be bidding farewell to the mainstream popularity in a time to come.
Facebook-owned Instagram has updated eight filters including rabbit, spinning math equation, koal & rabbit, and different crowns. Now, the app will allow users to add the augmented reality face filters by using both their front and back cameras. The face filters will be available in photos, videos and photo sharing app’s Boomerang feature.
Apart from the mentioned filters, other newly announced features include video rewind feature, eraser, tagging other users, and geostickers.
The update has been announced for both Android and iOS users.
Snapchat first introduced these reality face filters nearly two years ago, and had been enjoying sole popularity since then. But, Facebook has now cleverly started to incorporate all the app’s features into its own.
