Faysal Bank in collaboration with Tourism and Culture Department, Government of Sindh, inaugurated the Karachi Art Summit’17 today, 21-03-05, and will go on till 8th April in Karachi. The opening ceremony was held at the National Museum, where art lovers met artisans and performers from across the country.
The inauguration’s main attraction was a mesmerizing performance by the iconic Amin Gulgee.
The main aim of the Karachi Art Summit is to bring visual art into public spaces to invite, encourage, and even impose public engagement on the audience.
President Faysal Bank, Mr. Nauman Ansari, on the occasion said:
“Karachi Art Summit is one of its kind event, just as the Karachi and Lahore Eat Festival. Faysal Bank takes pride in taking the lead in bringing such events to our people.”
In Karachi Art Summit, besides various site-specific installations and sculptures, there are two curatorial projects, more than 80 artists including 34 international artists, three talks and five performances. Artists from other countries are also participating with their curatorial projects.
