Imam proposes 'fatwa' & prize of Rs. 25 lakh for smearing Modi's face with ink

The imam of Kolkata Mosque, India has issued a “Fatwa” against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Imam has stated that the government is fooling people through demonetization. The fatwa along with claim has sparked a huge debate among the masses, leaving Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) extremely angry and in quest of arresting the mentioned Imam.

Syed Mohammad Nurur Rahman Barkati, the Shahi Imam of Kolkata’s Tipu Sultan Masjid, has offered a reward of Rs. 25 lakh for the person who will dare to “cut off PM Narendra Modi’s beard, shave his head and smear him with black ink”.

“Everyday people are harassed and facing problem due to demonetisation.

“Modi is bluffing the society and the innocent people of the country through demonetisation and nobody wants him to continue as the Prime Minister,” Imam stated during a joint conference by the All India Majlis-e-Sura and All India Minority Forum.

On the other hand, BJP leaders have demanded an immediate arrest of the Muslim cleric. They have labeled the incident as “an insult of the Prime Minister by a religious leader considered close to the Chief Minister.”

Furthermore, All India Trinamool Congress MP Idris Ali was also sitting next to Imam Barkati when he issued the fatwa. Thus, the situation has taken a form of religious and political turmoil in the country.
