Fakhar is a left-handed batsman. He had an amazing run in the  Pakistan Cup’s 2016 edition where he scored 297 runs in five games including 2 fifties and a century. Therefore, he became the second highest scorer. First being Ahmed Shehzad.

He has always given strong performances in almost every format at the domestic level and now at international level. In the final of Champions Trophy Zaman edged to the wicket-keeper, when he was at 3, but survived by the no-ball. Fakhar scored an ODI century and helped Pakistan to score a massive total of 338. With that, Zaman became the first Pakistani to score a century in an ICC event final. Pakistan won the match by 180 runs to become the winners of Champions Trophy for the first time. Zaman was awarded with the title of ‘man of the match’ for his fantastic performance. Zaman and Azhar’s partnership in the match was 128 runs, making it the highest opening score in Champions Trophy history for Pakistan, and the highest opening in ODI since 2009.
