Earthquake jolts areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab

As per the latest news report, an earthquake hit the region of Central Punjab along with the different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday evening, 08-01-2017.

The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.2 with the epicentre located at Noorpur Thal district of Khusab. The depth of the tremors was about 54km.

The areas in Punjab which were affected by earthquake include; Sargodha, Mianwali, Chiniot, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, Shorkot, Gojra, Pind Dadan Khan, Cheecha Watni, Kot Momin.

Moreover, some areas of KPK were also jolted with the affect. The provincial capital Peshawar and the nearby areas also felt the tremor.

As of now, no news of severe property damage, loss of life, or injuries have been reported yet.
