Cricket Stadium to be constructed in Islamabad soon

According to media reports, Capital Development Authority (CDA) after consultations with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), it is decided to construct a cricket stadium in Islamabad on 35 acres land in Shakarparian. The project has been pending for the last several years.

After signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), CDA would be entitled to 30 per cent and PCB would be entitled to 70 per cent of income to be accrued from the local and international games to be played in this stadium. Presently, there is not a single cricket stadium or cricket academy in Islamabad, while Diamond Club Ground and other grounds are used for training of local players.
