CEO CDC Muhammad Hanif Jakhura passes away in Masjid-ul-Haraam

CEO CDC Mr. Muhammad Hanif Jakhura died in Masjid-ul-Haraam, last night. The sad demise came as the result of a severe heart attack, when Mr. Jakhura was sitting idly after Isha prayers in the premises of Masjid-ul-Haraam.

Mr. Muhammad Hanif Jakhura has been the Chief Executive Officer of Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited since March 2002. Mr. Jakhura joined CDC in 1994 and served as the General Manager and Executive Director from 1994 to 2002. He has also served as the Chairman of Asia- Pacific Central Depositories Group for the year 2006-07.

Mr. Jakhura also worked as the Chairman of the Committee to Review Institutional Arrangement for Financing Stock Brokers and Stock Market Investors and Member of Margin Financing Committee formed by Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.

Mr. Jakhura has represented CDC at various international forums including Association of National Numbering Agencies based in Brussels (ANNA), International Securities Services Association (ISSA), Central Securities Depositories (CSDs) and Asia-Pacific Central Depositories Group (ACG).

Hanif Jakhura’s death is certainly a great loss for the nation, for we have lost a staunch professional and a great human.┬áMay┬áhis sole rest in peace. Ameen.
