Celebrating Mother's Day across the globe

If I say that here is a person on the earth who is the symbol of true love, affection, dedication, motivation, strong as iron, clear as crystal, more precious as diamond, and that person is MOTHER then I would not be wrong.

Mothers are those personalities who shape cultures, society and individuals. Mother’s emotional availability and love are vital to their children’s well-being and personality.

A mother’s love is unconditionally delivered to the child to create trust and a smooth foundation of emotional familiarity. The power of mother love, the value of home and the significance of intentional presence in the home cannot be underestimated. If somehow the love is suppressed, a child will find a million other ways to get it throughout the lifetime.

Motherhood is all about intentions and influence. Mothers can incredibly influence the next generation by what they do as a mother every day. No matters at what age we are, we all should cherish our mothers every day and make them feel special on every occasion because motherhood is something that cannot be explained and is made of sacrifice, pain and deep devotion.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.—Rajneesh

As I said every day we all should cherish our mothers especially, here is a particular day in every year, on every 2nd Sunday of May which becomes special for her, as “Mother’s Day.”

Mothers have a heart like a rare jewel because they love their children even in their hardships and worst times.

Mothers get a unique place in the families; created by the God. They can love, cook, wash clothes, give of themselves, the first ones up in the morning or the last one down at night, manipulate things like nourishing children, doing jobs, organizing a home, and sometimes finding time for themselves. So, it is very important for us to give our love to these devoted and dedicated women and they should not be taken as granted at any point.

Worldwide this special occasion is celebrated on different dates and days of MARCH and MAY, while Julia Ward Howe and Anna Jarvis were the two women who established the tradition in the U.S. Around 1870, Julia Ward Howe called for Mother’s Day. In the memory of Ann Jarvis, Anna Jarvis held a private Mother’s Day celebration in 1907. A Mother’s Day International Association (MDIS) has grown increasingly popular since founded in 1912. Mother’s Day has different names in other languages like; Mother’s Day in English, Dia de la Madre in Spanish, Muttertag in German, Eid-ul-umm in Arabic.

In most of the Arab countries, Mother’s Day is celebrated on 21st March. Mustafa Amin was an Egyptian journalist who introduced this day and was first celebrated in 1956.

In Australia, Canada, Brazil, the United States, and the United Kingdom, Mother’s Day is celebrated on every 2nd Sunday of May.

While In Pakistan, Mother’s Day is also celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of May. Media channels also highlight this special occasion like other occasions. Individuals honour their mothers dedicating their love towards their mothers and by giving them special gifts to commemorate them through this day.
