The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) grounded all six ATR planes of Pakistan International Airlines. As reported by the local media:
“The CAA maintained that the national airline was not checking the engine oil of the planes properly”. It also stated that since the inception of their work arrival in Pakistan, the planes haven’t been properly checked for safety.
But as per PIA management’s response, it has completed the checking of three of its ATRs while the other three are still in the examination process. CAA sources also assured that after Havelian crash, all the national ATR airlines have gone through vigilance and extreme security.
PIA had earlier grounded its entire fleet of ATR airlines for thorough inspection on 12th December.
